Standardized Test Inspired Motivational Thinking Lesson Plan
Prior to taking a standardized exam, help students learn to visualize themselves acing the exam. Classroom Restaurant Simulation - Nutrition Lessons Unit
Students will learn how proper nutrition, exercise and rest are important to good health by setting up a classroom restaurant. The sixteen sessions in this unit contain lessons on different types of advertising, food safety rules, how to take your heart rate, analyzing food lables, understanding cooking terms, analyzing menus for nutritious offerings. Responsibility is an important value. Instilling this value in students is necessary for time management, intrinsic motivation, prioritization, and good work ethic. This is my favorite activity to do with students. You'll need a clear jar or vase, small pebbles, and large rocks, along with this lesson plan. The visual is very impactful. The role play activities the students create afterwards will reinforce their ability to apply the new information.
