This is a reader's theatre script that tells the story of the Battle of Plains of Abraham from both the British and French point of view. This product entirely in French from Chez Nathalie is a theatrical adaptation of the Abenakis legend: Gluskabe et le vol du tabac (How Gluskabe Stole Tobacco), which focuses on tobacco, a sacred plant. Gluskabe’s grandmother is sad that there is no more tobacco, and her grandson wants to see her happy. When Gluskabe learns that a selfish and dangerous wizard (Grasshopper) grows it solely for his own purposes on an island far away, Gluskabe decides to steal his tobacco and share it with everyone.
