Description
This product entirely in French from Chez Nathalie is a theatrical adaptation of the Micmac legend: Glooscap et Géant Hiver (Glooscap and Old Man Winter), which focuses on the sacred principle of the circle. The Micmac Nation risks extinction due to an extremely cold winter. Glooscap, the Creator, aids the nation by travelling South and bringing Princess Summer back to the North with him. The two confront Old Man Winter and order him to bring about a milder winter and accept the princess’s visit each summer. There are 8 roles: 3 main roles and 5 smaller roles. There is also a page before the legend which explains the sacred principle of the circle in First Nation culture and a page at the end of the product which contains a summary of two other legends on the same theme as well as discussion questions.
