Description
This is a reader's theatre script that tells the story of the Battle of Plains of Abraham from both the British and French point of view. Characters include General Wolfe and his staff, General Montcalm, Governor Vaudreuil, and Bishop Pontbriand, as well as several regular soldiers on both sides of the conflict. It also included two narrator roles who explain the historical context for each scene.
I wrote this while teaching my Grade Five class in Vancouver, BC. They really enjoyed it and found it quite engaging, but they are a really capable class, so I think this is likely better suited to kids in Grades 6-9. I tried to make it funny and engaging while also including as many historically-accurate details as possible, including the actual last words of both Wolfe and Montcalm.
If you end up using this, I would appreciate it if you could please leave a review and let me know what you think.
You may edit this script and use it as you would like. I have included a link to an editable Google Docs version of this script on the first page of the download if that is easier for you to use than a Word document.
