Phone Sanitation Experiment
Are you teaching culinary classes and want to show how dirty phones are? I did so I created this activity! Using fresh bread, a phone, and a ziplock bag, and in a week you can create a nice visual of how truly unsanitary it is to have or use your phones in the kitchens. I have pictures of students' bread slices from this year to show what you could end up with.

Capacity: Customary and Metric Mini Labs
These mini labs were created out of the need to teach customary and metric units of capacity in an investigative setting. Each lab was assigned to half the class for the first day and then flip flopped for the second day. By using a hands-on approach, students in my class understood how much each measure actually contains. This is a meal planning guide that incorporates the 5 basic food groups. Students will use a cookbook to decide on the main course of the meal, and from there will add on side dishes to help balance the food groups presented in the meal.
