Solar & Lunar Eclipses Activity Book
With the recent total lunar eclipse and two upcoming solar eclipses also observable in America in 2023 and 2024, I thought it would be a good idea to share some science behind these events. So I wrote a book on Solar & Lunar Eclipses with some fun STEM hands-on activities and made an accompanying video to enhance what's in the book. Public Service Announcement Semester Project
This project is meant to be a semester final project. Each team will produce one video PSA (live-action or animated) of between 2 minutes and 5 minutes in length on the topic selected by the team. I have used this project for 5 years with great result! Students really get into the production of the video. It is a great project for Environmental science, history, economy, or biology.

My Planet-Galaxy Project
Students create their own planet, and additionally as part of this project, create names for their planet's galaxy, constellations, moons, etc. in order to demonstrate mastery of various space terms as outlined in the resource, and as I explain in the video. My gifted class loved this, although I would and could do this with any class.

Geologic Time Scale Vacation
Create a video commercial about traveling back in time to a geologic time period, instead of traveling to a location destination. Can be adapted for most grades and any location. Forms of Water (the water cycle)
This video is intended to support learning about the water cycle, using the visual idea of a magical water drop to express the many ways that water can appear in nature. The film opens and closes with the ocean as the source and destination of the cycle, even if the flow is interrupted when water resides for vast amounts of time in caves, aquifers, or polar ice. After the opening coastline, water is shown as vapor, followed by 4 seasonal liquid and solid forms, closing again with a coastline.

Fandom Forecast Project
I used this project as the end of my middle school weather unit. The kids loved being able to create their own forecast of a fandom that they follow. I had a lot of kids use Star Wars, Marvel, etc. This is a great way for kids to summarize their skills and work on presenting.

Planet Video Project - Alien seeking a new planet from your solar system!
Here is a fun video project idea for your students! I have the students get into groups (usually 3-4 depending on class size). Each group will pick a planet (NO DUPLICATES). The students follow instructions to make the video. My students use iphones and edit them on iMovie, some find free video editors, tik tok can be used to edit videos, etc. I give my students 2-3 full days to do the video in class and then we watch them together.
