Mo Willems Author Study (2014) UPDATED
I created this Author Study slowly over the years. I make adjustments to it each year depending on what book Mo Willems has written/which ones I have. My class ALWAYS loves doing this. It is great for those times before Spring Break or the last month of school when you need something... but aren't sure what! We use this in conjunction with fiction writing a lot of times.

This is a flyer I send home with students the week before the Read-A-Thon starts. I also attach it to the front of the Read-A-Thon packets, as it has all the important rules and dates regarding this fundraiser. You can change the title, dates, names, etc.

Editable Cinderella Passport
Take your students on a trip around the world using different versions of the Cinderella Story. My students also created suitcases from file folders and pipe cleaners. They kept all their activities and passports in the suitcase to pull out as they traveled. My students learned so much with this activity and I hope yours will too. I made the file editable so that you could change which countries you are traveling to based on the books you have on hand. Enjoy!

Common Core- Interactive Research Based Project on Animals

Re-Tell Rope
This is a great startegy for fostering good habits to be used for re-telling. This could be used beginning in Pre-school. To make your oen use any kind of string whether it be yarn or a thicker cord. Each rung on the re-telling rope is to be bade from a bead or bell or anything you have in your craft box. You need six beads or bells each standing for a particular part of the story. This is great for students who learn well visually. They can see each part and touch each part which then will help
