Getting a glimpse into a student's home life really helped me understand that student, their needs, and how I could best help them in the classroom. At the beginning of each school year, I ask my parents to complete this reading questionnaire. It not only gives me an idea as to what a student's habits are in regards to reading, it is also interesting to see how a student's reading ability relates to how they approach reading at home.
