The phonological awareness activities can then be played at any time during the day, whenever the teacher has a spare moment. Main Idea and Sequential Order Folder Activity; Special Education
This instructional material is a print out to make two folder activities. Two different scenarios are written, accompanied by picture clues. Comprehension Strategy Card
This is a comprehension cue card that I used with at-risk students. Each child can have one, or you can place one inside a file folder office during self selected reading time. The students glued the sheet to a piece of colored construction paper and then I laminated them. We discussed and practiced one box a day until we covered all of the boxes.

Reading Foundations First and Last Words on a Book Page
Students have 10 task cards with authentic literature pages from a book. Students asked to find the arrow that points to the first word or the last word on the page that a person reading the book would read. Some higher order thinking of synthesis and application required as texts do not always print straight across in a row and challenge students to fully understand where first and last words occur in print concepts.

I Have Who Has Literacy Reading cards - class set.

All students stand up and the student with the first class comes to the front and reads their card (Who has you?). They then sit down.
