Michelle Baker

I primarily taught 4th and 5th grade for 20 years and loved every minute. I am now an Instructional Coach at the county level and work with all elementary grades K-6 and love every minute. My husband was a devildog, United States Marine, and I was fortunate to work in five different districts in various states along the east coast, gaining vast and varied experiences and strategies for impacting student learning.

My teaching style included integrated thematic units with a science or social studies base. I am a strong advocate for differentiating instruction in math and science as well as literacy rotations and centers in English Language Arts.

I am married to a wonderful man, affectionalely known by all my family, friends, and students as "Joebaby." I love to read courtroom dramas or crime mysteries in a sunny spot, preferably on a float in the pool. I run an average 5K three or four times a week trying to outrun Father Time...I think he is ahead! My husband and I attend Christ Alive Church in Newton, NC.
