Polygon, Triangle and Quadrilateral Search
This is a lesson I usually start off with when we study polygons, triangles and quadrilaterals. I usually pair students up and each gets a computer or Ipod to research all of these topics on the site, www.amathsdictionary.com. The students can then used this sheet for reference as we work our way through this material.
Researching topics on all polygons up to decagon, irregular and regular polygons, quadrilaterals and different types of triangles.

History of Geometry Research Project
Students will create a timeline of at least 25 historical events relating to Geometry. They represent this either as a PPT, Prezi, poster, etc. The students will also write an essay to go along with their timeline. They will investigate historical evolution, cultural contributions, and what their take away is from all of their research.
Grade scale is included, but no rubric.

Who was Pythagoras?
Who was Pythagoras is a culminating project to a small research unit on Pythagoras. The culminating project is a menu for student to pick from in order to answer the overarching question of "Who was Pythagoras?" This brings language arts into the math classroom, or the other way around.
