Teepee Triangle Counting Puzzle
This is simple visual puzzle from Dibble-dee Dabble-dee Do It. It will challenge the counting and logical thinking skills of students from 5 to 105! It can stand alone or be tied into a larger unit on geometry or Native American studies. Learners count and record the number of triangles that were used to create a teepee drawing. It can be adapted for a classroom or school-wide contest. P.S. There are 90 triangles!

Quilt Square Symmetry Project
This lesson uses the cultural resources of the Appalachian south (barn quilt squares) to integrate student culture into geometry.Students will create a barn quilt square using the geometric concepts of translation, rotation, and reflection. Tangrams Task
This activity is an easy one for students to complete on their own and can accompany a unit on Chinese history or on tangrams in geometry.
Students are asked to read an article provided by the Lan Su Chinese Garden in Oregon about the origins and spread of tangrams.
Questions accompany the article.
Students must then create their own tangram image using shapes they cut out themselves. The pieces must be glued down, and students are required to draw a scene around these pieces.

Template for cutting Sulbasutra / Vedic / Ancient Indus geometry blocks
The people of the ancient Indus Valley explored and solved complex geometry problems. Here are templates for cutting the basic blocks out of craft foam (or paper or anything). I really likedthis article which gives a number count of each block and a two ways of assembling a syenaciti design. There are quite a few other articles online describing the history and geometry. Each layer of the vedic altar should be 200 blocks exactly and when stacked the seams should not overlap.
