This activity is GREAT to get students thinking about the next stage of their lives whether that be college or career.
This assignment sheets asks student to create either a PowerPoint presentation or a poster board to present to the class answering a number of questions tailored to either avenue - college or career.

End of year research project
Looking for a great way to end your school year in your high school English class? This presentation hand out and rubric work great in place of a final exam or as a way to fill some dead time when you don't feel like starting another novel. The project can take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks and allows students to pursue their own interests while working independently. Debate Rules, Roles, and Assignment
This is a comprehensive document that describes the specifics of debate roles, rules, and structure. It is a step by step guise that explains the affirmative position and negative position. It also describes the roles of opening argument, cross examination, rebuttal, and closing argument. This is an editable Word document that contains project options and a rubric for an end of the year project ideal for an AP Language & Composition class. "Lamb to the Slaughter" Mock Trial Project Materials
My 7th grade ELA class combines our argumentative writing unit with a mock trial based on the short story "Lamb to the Slaughter" by Roald Dahl. In our trial, we put the main character Mary Maloney on trial for the murder of her husband. We do two trials per class over the course of two days so every student gets the opportunity to be a part of the trial as well as be a part of the jury. This project was the most fun we all had in class all year! A mandala is a ritual symbol that is used in the Hindu and Buddhist religions. During the course, we will be going deeper into studying shapes at large and the physical features of those shapes. This project is a favorite for my 10th grade students! The Tuesdays with Morrie "Lessons about Life" Final Project is a project that can be assigned while reading the novel or after reading the novel.
