This a set of 40 small cards that I created to use with an interactive notebook. On each card is either a property or a change that can be classified as chemical or physical. These can be used in a variety of ways. •Without telling them the goal of the lesson, have students group items without giving them guidance. See what categories they come up with to generate discussion. Use this as an intro into the properties of matter and chemical and physical changes. •Give each student a card then d

The project serves as the first introduction to many of the properties of chemical elements. This is my most favorite projects I have done to date. I modified the project from AACT. It is an icosahedron ball. 4 triangles per unit @ 4 units of what they thought was important from each unit, 1 triangle for name, 1 triangle of something they wish I had done and 2 things they enjoyed. This was for High School Chemistry They also included an in-depth report of their triangles For a research project a

This is a great game to review atomic structure and how to use the periodic table to find the subatomic particles. How it works: • The game includes 18 Bohr Models of atoms of different elements. I laminate the models so that I can reuse them from year to year. • I place the 18 laminated atomic models around the room creating 18 stations. Students work in groups of 2 and rotate through the 18 stations working as a team. • Students collect the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons for

This 5th Grade Science rotational review corresponds with TEKS Resource System Unit 09: Ecosystem Interactions. Students will rotate through the seven stations in groups of four and spend 4-5 minutes at each station. Stations can be doubled for smaller groups and be running concurrently. After all stations are complete students teach the station they end at to the class with teacher support.

This is a fun study game for middle to high school students. Students work on problems in groups. Teachers should keep a copy of all group questions, and have student come to show their work to answer them, they should have a separate set projected on the board. I have used an overhead camera with plastic sheet protectors, with the slides inside, so students can write directly on the question they are answering. Please let me know what you think about my materials! Feedback is always welcome,

Using the Engineering Design Process students will use this worksheet to guide them through the steps when creating their own egg dropping device. We used a window in our building that is 20ft from the ground and raw eggs. The eggs we inserted into their protoype and dropped it from the window. To see if their prototype was successful we would see if the egg cracked. This is a great post-TCAP activity that is still working on scientific skills.
