These five carefully chosen poems are great comprehension practice and test prep for 4th and 5th graders. Students scan the QR code, read the poem, and answer the questions. I've added the Common Core standards for both grade levels on each question. 5th graders would be expected to answer in more depth. These can be used for morning work, centers, or just a class activity. After the students answer the questions, I highly recommend discussing all of the poems and their answers as a class. Have

This product is a list of at least 16 questions at each of the six levels of the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. These questions are general enough to be used with almost any text. Some of the questions, I found as part of a similar set of the "old" Bloom's question cards; while others I have come up with myself. For better wear/use, I have mine

When students read, we want them to write about it. I use this as an ongoing assignment that I usually give students time in class to complete.I have them paste this in the front of their notebooks at the beginning of the year / unit and explicitly teach them how to do each one. (Examples and templates found in my shop.)I then ask them to do 2 - 3 a week and they can't repeat a type in a week.

This is a great tool to use with the kids when going over the different kinds of questions. The more complex questions are in bold. There are also clue words for students to look for that help them know how they need to answer the questions.
