Kelso's Choices Game Quiz

* This is a list of questions for a game or quiz about Kelso's Choices. * I use these questions as part of ball game. Students take turns throwing the ball to one another as I ask one of the questions. * You can also break students into smaller groups and have a Jenga game at each group, along with a copy of these questions (or post on the board/elmo to view). Students take turns answering each question as they move a block. * This is a fun way to assess students on their knowledge of Kelso

This activity can be completed as a class, independently, 1:1, or in small group. This is a great way for students to learn about themselves, to discuss zones of regulation and coping skills, as well as a great resource for counselors and teachers. Welcome to CanuckPuck Next Steps Education! We are ONTARIO TEACHERS and we ALSO write report cards! With two teachers and close to 50 years of teaching experience, CanuckPuck teaching is not about bells and whistles, but about quality and performance. We could spend all kinds of time making our report cards or files look nice with fancy pictures and obscure fonts, but that is not real and that is not what gets smiling and positive feedback notes from principals. Behavior Points Chart

This is a behavior points chart that you can use to motivate students for good behavior. In my classroom, I use this to document progress on IEP goals. I begin with one IEP goal, and the student works toward a certain number of points (whatever is challenging to the student). As the student progresses, we add more goals and work toward weekly goals. Great for shaping behaviors! This is a word document so you can change it to meet your needs (times and subjects are just there as an example)!

I created this chart for my parents. I am using it in conferences to show the child's readiness for first grade as well as which standards they have mastered and which standards they need extra assistance. I added a section of behaviors our first grade teachers expect of their students. I put this file in a .doc version so you can modify this "First Grade" list as well as add any standards that are specific to your school. In the math column, a few standards are specific to our school and NO

Fair or Unfair Quiz

This is a basic 10-question quiz that I made for my first graders to introduce them to the idea of rules and laws (I used it when going over standards SS.1.C.1.1 and SS.1.C.3.1). Each question is a statement and students have to circle rather that statement is fair or unfair. This is also a great quiz to review afterwards and have a whole-class discussion about why certain things may be fair or unfair. Please feel free to ask any questions!

This is a student survey that we administered last year that gave us some great results. The students completed them in class for gauranteed 100% turn-in rate! The teacher read the questions to be sure the students understood the whole question in the younger grades and the older grades completed them on their own. I deleted some of the questions that were specific to our school, but I left it in Word format so that you can insert your own questions and customize it for your own school or classr

Children engage in many forms of play. This form allows you to track the stage of play and development. As we model conversations and problem solving strategies this form allows teachers to track growth, record conversations and plan next steps for the focus lessons needed to inform our instruction. These developmental stages come from research of Mildred Parten in "Purposeful Play." Use the six stages of play based on your students interactions and your observations during choosing time.
