Early Government and Constitution - Create-a-Country Activity
Personal Note: My students LOVED this project. I used it after teaching the American Revolution and before introducing the Articles of Confederation. There was a LOT of debating among the groups, even though I let them choose the groups! Be prepared for this activity to last several classes, as students will debate the issues for as long as you let them. In this assignment students watch the Disney version of Pocahontas and compare with Disney's version to what really happened. There is a timeline of Pocahontas, a map, and events of what happened in her life. After the video students must write about the comparison of the video and what really happened in her life.
