Songs for Learning the 50 States by Region
The tunes of some familiar childhood songs were used in creating these catchy songs that have helped my own students learn the names and locations of all 50 states in their regions.
There are five songs for each of the following regions – northeast, southeast, southwest, midwest, and west.
A blank map and a labeled map are both included. They can be used as a study tool as well as a template for creating tests and quizzes.

Teach your students an easy to learn song about the continents and oceans, sung to the catchy well-known tune, "Old MacDonald". My students still remember the song months later! Make learning Social Studies facts more fun with this original song by Tracy Maggio.
**I have edited the song to include 5 oceans, since it was changed from 4 to 5 in the year 2000.

The Roman Gods Rap
These lyrics are all about the gods of Ancient Rome. The lyrics can be performed to many different beats. Just make sure to really emphasize the "Peace" part in the last line. Maybe with a peace gesture/wave. The kids might crack up at the last part, so if you do not like laughter in your class, DO NOT USE THIS SONG. Maybe you can even give it to your kids to perform. Have fun.

Continents of the World Rap!
This was a rap I made to help my third graders learn the continents of the world. Easily adaptable to many beats, or chant without music and let your students develop their own hand motions and beats also. Can also be used as a brain break- students will choose it time and time again!
Globe Song
This is a great song to help kids memorize the locations of the continents and oceans as well as identifying the North Pole and South Pole and Equator. I have also created a Power Point presentation that I use when teaching the song and the "Facts about our Globe." Coming soon....stay tuned.....

Song and Rap about Landforms
This file includes a catchy song about landforms to the tune of "Bad boys, bad boys..." and my students loved it. For your boys, there is rap about landforms that is included. The rap is a bit trickier, but you are welcome to use either or both. My students and I even added hand and arm movements/ dancing to the words to help us remember the words.

This is a song I wrote to help students memorize the 50 States and Capitals. I didn't like the Anamaniacs version because it was so scattered over the map. I wrote it so it would go from the East to the West coast.

Christopher Columbus "Cup Song"
Last year many of my kids really liked the "Cup Song" from the movie Pitch Perfect. So, I performed the same cup rhythm, but changed the words to be about a few keys facts about Christopher Columbus and his journey.

I created this easy little song to the tune of "The Addams Family" to help my students learn the five oceans of the earth.
Included is a world map which can be used as a study tool to help locate the oceans. You may decide to test or quiz your students, so it may also be used as a template for you to create your own.
