Desmos Art Project
A great End of Semester or Year project for Honors Math 3 students to put in to practice transformation of Parent Functions. Students have the option of creating from scratch an image, or using a clipart from their google search and adding it into Desmos. It also allows for discovery of other functions or non functions that are not specifically addressed in Math 3. Thank you for your support and I can't wait to see what you create!

Math Test Corrections Form
The math test corrections form allows students to reflect on their math tests. Students identify the type of mistake they made, state the mistake in their own words, and resolve the problem to find the correction solution. The "type of mistake" options are "computational" and "conceptual." Computational means the students made a mistake when performing operations in math (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, etc). Conceptual means the student did not understand the math concept.

Desmos Project Rubric - Parent Function Transformations
This is the rubric I use for my absolute favorite project in Algebra 2. After learning about the basic rules of transformations, students log into Desmos and use the Desmos Graphing Calculator to create an artwork that meets the requirements listed on this rubric. I treat this as a summative project because it covers so many skills and concepts.

Problem Solving Journal - Pumpkin problem!
Teach Algebra students how to communicate mathematics by trying a problem and following a rubric in explaining how the problem is solved!Use the samples provided first so students can actually learn to "grade" another student paper and discuss with a partner how to evaluate excellent responses using a specific rubric as a guide.

I used this rubric and gave this for the students to do the day before spring break. They wrote and performed these in shortened class periods and were great. The students wished for more time, I thought about giving them the assignment the day before for people that wanted more time.

This is the rubric I use for the Desmos Artwork Project I do every year in Algebra 2. Students are required to include a variety of parent functions and transformations in their original artwork design on Desmos. I treat this as a summative grade.

Categorizing Types of Exponents Tree Map (Zero, Negative, Positive, & Rational)
In this activity, the students draw a tree map for four types of exponents. There is a branch for zero exponents, for negative exponents, for positive exponents, and for fractional (rational) exponents.
The students are to create their own expressions for each category, although the teacher may post various examples around the room.

WHITEBOARD SWAP: Score Sheet
This product is a score sheet for a partner Whiteboard Swap activty.I use this activity with my students as a way to practice mathematics problems and facilitate peer collaboration. I start by putting students into groups of two. I give each student a whiteboard, marker, eraser, and this score sheet. I project up a series of problems on the board. Students have 2 minutes to complete the problem and then 30 seconds to swap whiteboards and give feedback.This score sheet holds students accountable
