Intro Note and Rubric for a Science project (Stable Structures or Form and Function) in which the student has to build a structure that can prevent an egg from breaking when dropped from various heights. You can make it more challenging (Gr 7 appropriate) by adding "cost" criteria into the rubric (ie. 10 cents per popsicle stick, 2 cents per foot of tape etc).
