This Common Core reading informational text lesson focuses on how an author uses rhetoric to express point of view. In this lesson, students will read a text (usually an excerpt of a speech), and then identify when an author appeals to ethos, pathos, or logos. Finally, students will analyze how the author's use of these appeals advances his point of view.
