Virtually all were developed from experience and they include topics such as the very nature of fractions to the conversion of fractions to decimals (and vice versa) to long division to other topics in the first several grades. They will esitmate how much they will spend per person and then for everyone. They will then add the prices (adding decimals) and find the exact amounts. They have $1,000 to spend and if they don't use all of it, they have to find the change they would receive. In the end, they are creating a poster to present their findings. My kids really loved it!
