Letter Scramble / Boggle Game For SMARTBOARD
This game is perfect to use as a word work activity, spelling game, center activity, or as a whole class game. Divide students into two teams and have them race the clock to find as many words as they can in the jumbled puzzle. The team that finds the words that are worth the most points wins the round. Mendelian Genetics Unit: Lesson 5: Mendelian Monster Project
In the first part of this culminating genetics project, students will randomly design and illustrate their own monsters. On the final illustration, students will label both genotypes and phenotypes of their monster.
In the next two lessons, students will create punnet squares between their monster and a fellow classmate's monster to see what potential offspring would look like.

Minecraft Surface Area and Nets
Minecraft is all many of the kids think about....So, why not bring it into math class. Minecraft paper craft are nets that build the various Minecraft characters (they sell them in the scholastic book orders). I created this SMART Board Lesson to go along with a mapping activity for our Cold Lands Unit which focussed on Alaska and Antarctica. We followed the SMART Board slides to see real pictures and learn about specific areas in Alaska. Then, my students got together in small groups to find these areas on their own Alaskan maps. After they found each item, they filled in their own Alaskan map including their key. This was very beneficial to my students and increased their excitment about Alaska.

Building Bridges, Building with a Variety of Materials
This is a Notebook lesson consisting of approx. 36 slides. It contains short student notes on five different types of bridges, beam, truss, arch, cantilever, and suspension. This is a fun activity you would have your class do after learning about Capacity. I include a quick review of the measurements of gallon, quart, pint, and cup. In this it will show your class an example of a Capacity Creature. It gives them the directions to make a Capacity Creature along with a grading rubric at the end to show them how it will be graded. This is a fun project that the kids really enjoyed.

Geometry Proof Puzzle
Students use a word bank and their knowledge of triangle proofs to complete 3 "puzzles". CpCtC is used as well so I recommend using this after you teach that topic unless you wanted to modify the word bank and proofs. I had my students glue/tape their answers to construction paper to hang up around the classroom. I've used this multiple years and I really like how it turned out.
