Middle Ages Project
This project is designed for 8th graders studying the Middle Ages. The project is designed so that kids get to pick and choose different activitites, each worth a different number of points. They essentially pick from a list of mini projects to design their own project. It would work for English and/or history classes and is easy to adapt. It was popular with students and parents appreciated it too.

Viking Runes Worksheet
This is a one page (double sided) work sheet that shows students what type of alphabet Vikings used. The "futhark" alphabet it shown with the corresponding english sound below it. There is a riddle to solve, a few Viking words to translate, and then has students answer a few questions about themselves in runes as well. I've used this in World History talking about the Norse people, Mythology, in a unit on Beowulf, and I'm sure it can be used for many other subjects as well.

Treaty of Versailles
This is a worksheet that can be used when teaching students about the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles after World War One. It describes the major terms of the Treaty and allows students to think about how each term would affect Germany. It also has two political cartoons which the students can analyze and utilize to consider the German reaction to the Treaty. This sheet would be useful for teachers starting a unit on the Rise of Hitler and general post World War One period.

The Manor Game
In order to discuss the evolution of the manor system, feudalism, chivalry, and social hierarchy, "The Manor Game" follows a step by step process to develop a Baron's manor after William the Conqueror takes over in England during the Middle Ages. Students will develop their own manor system on a piece of 8"x11" paper by following the storyline and instructions.
