Children's Book Proposal (for a group writing a collaborative Children's book).
Before starting a group assignment in which they write a children's story (student's do have a choice to do this independently as well), they fill out a proposal for the teacher/publisher. This gets them to brainstorm ideas. I have this document uploaded on the platform, TeacherMade, then I share this link with them in their daily lessons on a school platform for daily lessons.

Fall Haiku Poetry Form
Celebrate fall with this haiku poetry assignment. This form teaches students how to write a haiku poem as well as provides them with a form on which to write it. This would be a great addition to your students' writing portfolios. Collect all of the seasons. They are also provided in a packet entitled "Poems for all Seasons". Hero's Journey Comic Strip Assignment
This is a worksheet to use as the first step to creating a comic strip depicting a 'transformational journey' that your students have taken in their own lives, such as learning a new skill or overcoming an obstacle. The worksheet is ready to go for students with assignment directions and a graphic organizer where students plot the storyline for their comic by deciding on the call through the return "home".

Literature Circles are a fun and engaging way to teach any type of literature in your class. This may be, short stories, poetry, and your novel unit. What you will find here, are the 9 roles that are used in Literature Circles on a handy one page reference sheet. This way students can make a quick reference to the role they are working on.
