This rhythmic chant is meant to review vocabulary for the French Café. Low tech. Students tap a pencil or their feet. Repeat after teacher. Can be done in rounds with boys and then girl voices. As a summary activity have students write their own similar chant using vocabulary for foods, restaurant and/or cafe. Perform in front of class! Great for any age beginner class!

Avoir conjugation cheer/chant
For most students, the struggle of memorizing 'avoir' can be very daunting and confusing. I created a cheer for students to memorize when they are learning the verb 'avoir' and put it into a small little note card so that students can keep them in the front of their binders or laminate and keep on a ring. The chant allows them not only to create a fun way of memorizing an otherwise difficult topic, but it will immediately get stuck in their heads.

Winter Song Activity
This activity allows students to improve their listening comprehension skills while listening to enjoyable winter-time songs. Simply make a photocopy of your preferred shapes for the word clouds of words contained in the songs "Vive le vent" and "Au Royaume du Bonhomme hiver" and ask students to underline or highlight the words they hear from the songs. There are a few words that are not in the songs in each word cloud to allow for better sound discrimination results.
