I believe that students learn through whole body experiences. I have created a few math songs to help students with learning addition, subtraction and decomposing numbers. The songs are to a familiar tune. Each phrase has hand gestures.
The addition and subtraction song are fun and easy to use. I have used them the last 2 years teaching Kindergarten. Both the parents and students love to sing them.

As a Dual Language teacher, I often find that Spanish resources are limited. I wrote this song to teach kids how to count by ones, tens, and hundreds. This song also explains how to convert tens into ones or ones into tens. The students learn the concepts while having fun!
The Factors and Multiples Song
Teach your students the difference between factors and multiples with this fun song to the tune of "Jingle Bells". The song reinforces that factors start with one and end with the number (their fence), while multiples go on and on! Not only does this song teach the steps, but it also explains why there is one less ten and ten more ones. The students learn the concepts while having fun!

Prime Number Rap / Chant
This is a quick and easy rap/chant I use with my students when introducing and/or reviewing prime numbers from #2 - #103.
They really enjoy singing it, and I often notice them singing it under their breath while taking a test to recall the order of prime numbers.
Note: there is no song to follow the beat as it's an original chant; more like spoken word.

This is a rap that outlines the steps in solving a 2 digit X 2 digit multiplication problem. My students love rapping it with an instrumental rap track off of YouTube. They remember the process much more effectively when they are able to set the learning to music.

This is a rounding chant that I created to help teach my third graders how to round to different place values. I chant it to the tune of the Army's "I don't know what I've been told" chant. It really helped them a lot!
Teach Me How To Times It (To The Tune of "Teach Me How to Dougie")
Last year teaching multiplication I had an active class of boys who LOVE to do the Dougie! I wrote a song for them about multiplicaiton and tried to use as much vocabulary as I could. The chorus is just skip counting (after we did 2's I just changed it to 5's, 10's, then 3's, etc) and they loved it.
