Emergency Action Plan Project
Emergency planning is a great skill for all future health care professionals. This project is a great way for students to apply the basics of emergency action planning remotely with amusement parks. This project was designed for a sports medicine class but can be applied to several subjects. It allows students to have creative freedom and expression while on task. Pick Your Own Path: First Aid and Emergency Action Plan Lab
Students will be presented with an athlete injury case. At each step of treatment, they will be prompted to pick their own path. Students will work to address emergency issues, include other medial professionals, and initiate emergency action plans as needed. With 8 possible treatment scenarios, students could complete the worksheet over and over again, each time utilizing and reviewing different skills.Graphic instructions included.

HOPS/HIPS Ankle and lower leg Evaluation
My Sports Med students are required to evaluate an ankle/lower leg injury. I make up a scenario, and students need to evaluate their partner's ankle/lower leg. Students are required to do this WITHOUT looking. This is their end of unit exam.

HOPS/HIPS Evaluation Project
The HOPS/HIPS evaluation project is a project I do with students to end the Evaluation and Assessment unit before reviewing for their exam. I allow students to work with ONE partner. They're responsible for splitting up the evaluation evenly and presenting it to the class. This is something we do when we're finishing the unit and not breaking down specific joints yet. I give students 1 (47 minute) class period to prepare for this. The next two days is when students present it to the class.

This Google Slide and Google Drawing assignment can be used in Google Classroom, Schoology, or made into another format to use elsewhere.
