This activity is ideal for classrooms without access to many instruments, but available technology for each student. In this project, students are exploring a virtual symphony where they are able to select instruments, listen to them play solo, and with an orchestra, learn about the instrument's family, visual appearance, how the instrument is played, and more. Cover It! GarageBand Assignment
This is an assignment I developed for my grade 6-8 students. It requires them to have basic knowledge of the GarageBand program (I used iPads), as they will be choosing a song of their choice to cover. This assignment is designed to be completed in partners, and took my guys roughly one month, having two, 40 minute periods per week.

Boom Pipes Recipe - Instructions for Making Home-made Bass Set
Boom pipes are a novel yet musical addition to my Orff instruments (substituting for bass bars) as well as to my Boomwhackers and home-made instrumentarium. Students (of all ages) LOVE these!
