This sort can be used in a number of ways. It covers the characteristics of polygons and quadrilaterals and is based on the 3rd grade math CCSS. However, it can very easily be used with 2nd or 4th graders as well.
I use it with my ESL students to help them distinguish between polygons. Would also be a great math center activity. Also includes a writing component to hold students accountable for their work.

This is an open ended worksheet with shape riddles (as well as the answers) for you to use with your students.
You can use it in any number of ways.
1) Cut out the clues/riddles and cut out the answers. Have your students match or glue the clues/riddles with the answers on a piece of construction paper.
2) As a class, erase the answers before giving the worksheet. Read the clues outloud with your students, and have them guess which shape you are talking about by writing it down on the worksheet.
