This posting is a set of SmartBoard slides to be used at the beginning of the year. It includes a slide asking the class what they think the rules of the room should be, where you can write their responses. Then on the next slide, there is a chart with three columns titled Respect Yourself, Respect Others, and Respect the Environment along with moveable sentences telling common rules the kids usually come up with, such as "Don't hit." The students sort all the rules into those three categories.
