Biography Timeline Graphic Organizer Template
I always tell my students that a biography is the story of a person's life, as though a timeline was put into narrative form. For their upcoming writing project on a historical figure, I plan to have them prewrite by turning their research into a timeline. This template should keep them on the right track and help them see what is most important. Let me know how you use it in your classroom!

It was modeled after the AVID strategy of providing a template for a rhetorical precis. This is, however, on a more basic level than that because my students weren't to that point yet.
