TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have a Masters in Education, over 10 years of teaching experience, 4 years of experience in educational publishing, and 1 year of experience as a literacy coordinator for a Junior High.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I Use mentor texts daily, and I see myself as a reading and writing coach instead of a reading and writing teacher. I believe in practice, practice, practice and whole group instruction with collaborative learning.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have had two students place 2nd in national writing contests in the two years that my students competed.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a BA in English Language Arts and a Masters in Education. On the praxis II exam I scored in the top 10% and received a perfect score on my praxis III exam/classroom observation.
