This picture sort is a great activity for a Science center, for using on the board as a class, or as an activity for students who finish their work early. You can also copy and paste these pictures and labels into a SmartBoard activity for the class. This also works well as an assessment for students who do not do test well. Cut out the pictures and laminate them or have the students cut and paste them onto a separate paper for an assessment or activity. This activity includes 28 picture cards

This activity is a great way to get students to use their senses and describe an object (pumpkin seeds). This can be used as a senses lesson for younger students and an adjective lesson for older students. The classes I have taught in the past have really enjoyed this lesson and their writing was very descriptive. This also gave me a reference point when I wanted them to use more description in their writing.

We recorded observations of the amounts and then discovered what each type of water was called (salt water, and freshwater- groundwater, surface water, and frozen water). Then we recorded the percentage of the Earth's water each one makes up in the somewhat proportionally sized boxes on the 2nd page.
