Geometry Project - Geometry Town
Students will create a town map made of different geometric figures. They will demonstrate their knowledge of parallel and perpendicular lines, acute and obtuse angles, geometric shapes as well as many other geometric concepts through this creative and fun project.
This project can be adapted to higher level geometry courses and high school classes. You can add parameters to the geometric shaped buildings (ex. must label the dimensions of the building given a certain area or perimeter).

Any chance I can to give students the ability to be creative in math, I take it! This is an enrichment project I use during my Pythagorean Theorem unit. Students are tasked with applying their knowledge of the Pythagorean Theorem to create a Wheel of Theodorus. Coordinate Geometry Project (Slope, Midpoint, Distance, Quadrilaterals)

Trigonometry Golf
I like to call this activity Putt-Putt-Geometry. It is 9 glorious holes of trigonometry application! This works great as a Trig unit project, end of year project, or test review (maybe 1 or 2 holes for review). The students can work in groups, pairs, or individuals. If your students are not proficient with Trig, or you have not covered it yet, each hole can be done using the Pythagorean Theorem instead - simply tweak the directions a bit. I hope your students enjoy this as much as mine do!

This PowerPoint presentation uses animations to demontrate 3 types of tranformations: translations, rotations, and reflections. Compass Animals
Students can choose between 6 different animals to construct completely out of circles. By constructing their animals they are practicing measuring with a ruler (using both metric and English measurements) and using a compass. This is also great review for circle vocabulary such as radius and diameter.

Similar Triangles Project with Indirect Measurement
This project was designed for my honors geometry (9th) class. It uses the shadow method, mirror method, and similar triangles to estimate the height of objects using indirect measurement.
