The Creature Project is a great end-of-year project for connecting content that was covered all year in Algebra 1. It requires students to graph several functions as well as restrict boundaries for domain and range. See examples attached.
Solving Equations Calendar Project
Students will create and solve equations to represent dates on a calendar month using one step equations, two step equations, equations with terms on both sides, combining like terms, and the distributive property. The answers to the equations should represent the dates on the calendar.

Three FUNCTION SYSTEMS Mini Projects - Real World!
8th Grade Functions and Systems of Equations come together in an engaging, real-world project (3 mini projects)!
The projects require the students to create displays that include graphs, tables, domain, range, mapping, and reflection. The students write two functions in each mini project based on a possible real-world scenario. The students must not only visually display their functions in various forms, but they must explain the results and effects of small changes in the data or function.

Linear Equations: Water Park Project
In this high interest, extensive assignment, students are given a three part project broken into daily tasks. The project is designed to assess the students profieciency with linear equations. Multi-Step Equations Storybook Project
This is a project that I look forward to every year. It's not often students get the opportunity to channel their creativity in math, so I try to fit in any opportunity that I can.
The Storybook Project requires students to think outside of the box, and metaphorically solve a multi-step equation. Students are challenged to personify the distributive property, combining like terms, as well as inverse operations and create a story that incorporates these mathematical procedures into its plot.
