CELL ORGANELLE TABLE DRAWINGS ASSIGNMENT
I made this for my AP biology class but it can be used at any level if they have access to google images. Students learn the structures of the cell by drawing and labeling them on their lab desks. Once they have drawn all of them and taken photos, they turn it into a slide show uploaded to our google classroom. You can use any kind of chalk, or window marker. Easy clean up and kids love this.
Protein Synthesis and Genetic Disease Poster Project
This is instructions and a rubric for a protein synthesis poster project. I usually accompany this with acting out the process of protein synthesis.
The students have to explain the process of transcription and translation and then elaborate on how the process can go wrong and lead to a problem with a protein (a genetic disease).

After completing a unit on a particular body system, students will write a short paper about a disease of that system that interests them. This is a simple rubric for that paper, simply interested in getting them doing a little research and seeing why learning about this topic is relevant to them, even if they are not going into the medical field.
