I created this as a final project for my anatomy & physiology class. Students are to compare the anatomy and physiology of any organism to that of a human. Students are given choices as to how they want to complete it.

I use this unit to introduce animal medical terminology to my companion animal class. This would also be very useful in most any vet science or medical class. MUSCLES ON STATUES SLIDESHOW PROJECT
I use this with my anatomy class as a way for students to learn the names of the muscles. Students select a statue from my slideshow template and then use that to draw and label muscles over the various body parts of the statue. I have provided the slideshow template, instructions, and the sign up sheet. I do this as a group project but they can also do their own.
Human Body Systems Interactions Poster Project
This assignment was designed to be a flexible, student guided, research project. Students will choose 2 body systems and research each system, describe, and visually represent how they interact and explain why the interaction is important in the human body. Bone Fractures and Bone Trauma Unit Assessment
Students will write a story/scenario about someone getting a bone fracture. They will have to use evidence from the unit to prove their understanding. They'll have to use prior knowledge from the unit to complete this assessment. We practice writing scenarios before this assessment so students know what they need to study. This assignment involves a group of three students who work together on a diagram and a written summary of a fake brain of a well known celebrity.The students have to be very creative with this, and it seems to work well as a review of some key parts of the brain and the functions of these parts.This assignment could be done individually in a virtual setting by having the student complete and taking a picture and submitting this.This activity works well for Biology and Psychology classes.

CELL ORGANELLE TABLE DRAWINGS ASSIGNMENT
I made this for my AP biology class but it can be used at any level if they have access to google images. Students learn the structures of the cell by drawing and labeling them on their lab desks. Once they have drawn all of them and taken photos, they turn it into a slide show uploaded to our google classroom. You can use any kind of chalk, or window marker. Easy clean up and kids love this.

Protein Synthesis and Genetic Disease Poster Project
This is instructions and a rubric for a protein synthesis poster project. I usually accompany this with acting out the process of protein synthesis.
The students have to explain the process of transcription and translation and then elaborate on how the process can go wrong and lead to a problem with a protein (a genetic disease).
Cell Analogy Project
Students will gain a better understanding of the cell by comparing it to something that they know. This project is a great ending to a cell biology chapter to help students grasp a better understanding of organelles.
