Biography Timeline Graphic Organizer Template
I always tell my students that a biography is the story of a person's life, as though a timeline was put into narrative form. For their upcoming writing project on a historical figure, I plan to have them prewrite by turning their research into a timeline. Summary of Nonfiction - Template
This is a template to get students started writing a more complete summary of a piece of nonfiction without retelling it like they often do. It was modeled after the AVID strategy of providing a template for a rhetorical precis. This is, however, on a more basic level than that because my students weren't to that point yet.
