BUNDLE: Argumentative Essay Packets & Lesson Plans: Social Media

This bundle is a must have! We have included three packets into this bundle all related to the discussion topic: Social Media.

Each packet has a different focus. Argumentative Writing Topic Social Media Packet #1 focuses on Gathering Information to Make a Claim. We help guide the students to find relevant textual evidence to support their individual claims. We also have the students utilize a learned strategy of 4Rs to help paraphrase the textual evidence.

Argumentative Writing Topic Social Media Packet #2 focuses the students attention on Writing a Counterclaim. We have found this to be a very difficult paragraph for the students to write. We break down the process of writing the paragraph to ensure that students understand the different between claim, counterclaim, and rebuttal statement.

Argumentative Writing Topic Social Media Packet #3 focuses the students attention to actually Writing the Argumentative Essay. Here we provide a variety of graphic organizers and outlines to help the students write a 5 paragraph essay. We have also included a new product Argumentative Essay Rubric. We use this with the students to help them self-monitor their own progress when writing the essay.

We have also included a Lesson Plan to go along with this Packet. The Lesson Plan breaks down the packet into mini lessons, group work, guided practice and independent work. The Lesson Plan is intended to give you step by step directions as to how you can present this packet to your students.
