Remembrance Day - The Lives of Decorated Indigenous Soldiers
This is a lesson plan that has the students researching five decorated Indigenous Soldiers who fought for Canada in WWI and WWII. They will work in groups and present either in a poster-form, or a online prezi, depending on the resources of the school. This is a project that is aligned with Chapter Three of the Issues for Canadians textbook that is used in Alberta, Canada. This project involves students creating their own Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This project is an excellent way to start the unit and I found that my students enjoyed it.
