I am a 2022 “Excellence in Education” award winner. I have been a certified Ontario teacher since 2003. I have taught numerous courses in a wide variety of schools. I have also worked as a consultant, helping teachers to embed twentieth-century transferable skills across subject areas.
My teaching style is varied, as is the case with all good teachers. I especially emphasize project-based learning as a way to embed transferable skills in my lessons even as I help students achieve the Overall Expectations of their courses.
In addition to my excellent classroom work, I have served as a consultant, working with groups of teachers as they embed twentieth-century transferable skills into their lessons. I have also worked as an ESL college professor, and worked with Teacher Candidates in Faculties of Education as they prepare to enter the classroom.
In addition to an Honours BA in English and History, I am a TESL-certified ESL teacher. I have a Bachelor's of Education, and I am qualified to teach at the Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels. I also have an Honours Specialist in English.
I am also the host of a podcast called "The Truly Modern School", where guest share their thoughts on the nature and value of school in ever-changing times. The podcast is available for free in iTunes and on Google Play.
