Basic Math Inventory Assessment
This is a basic math inventory assessment that I give at the beginning of the year to asses the level of my students. This assessment covers comparing and ordering numbers, place value, the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions, decimals and whole numbers. There are NO MULTIPLE CHOICE questions and word problems are worded in Common Core format.

7 Honors MATH TEST on INTEGERS (Unit 1)
This is the first TEST for 7th grade HONORS Math. The topic covered is INTEGERS (with some fractions and decimals). I taught this unit without the use of a calculator for the honors level. This test is also EDITABLE and an ANSWER KEY is included.

Budgeting and Meal Planning
This activity encourages it's users to be creative, budget, take personal and dietary needs into consideration. Young adults, have trouble thinking about others and planning ahead. This activity encourages youth to do both of these.

Fractions: Using M & M's for Addition of Rational Expressions with Answer Key
After struggling for years to get kids to relearn how to add fractions correctly, I came up with a "game" they could use to learn how to do it using M & M's. (Candy has its place in our educational system!)
The main idea is to set up equations using M & M's: instead of writing factors like (x+3) or (2x -1), they use factors like "R" (for red), "G" for green, and so forth.
The first step is to reduce each fraction as much as possible. (If all terms "cancel out," then a 1 remains.)
