Solar System Travel Brochure and Extension Project
This is a project that was given to my fifth grade students as a culminating activity for our solar system unit. Students had to work in a group of 2 or 3 students and design a travel brochure on the planet of their choice. There is a checklist that was needed to be completed for their project. My students are always asking for extra credit so this also contains an extension project piece along with a certificate for completion.

This is an informational, full color, two sided brochure with basic solar eclipse facts. Easy to carry along outside to read while awaiting the eclipse debut! This set of cards is currently printable for February 2019 moon phases, but is easily edited in Publisher to match whatever month you're interested in displaying. A quick search for Moon Phases will help you figure out your numbering. I use these cards during our space science units in my calendar for sustained inquiry, but you could also use them as task cards, turn it into a sorting activity, make it a workstation - the possibilities are endless.

Self-advocacy Brochure
Every year, students on my caseload share their self-advocacy brochure with teachers and staff. It helps them with communicating information about their hearing loss and accommodations. The headings on the brochure can be edited so it is specific to your student, along with the information on each page. I included my student's brochure as an example. Kids of all ages love printing out a copy for each of their teachers, writing their name on it and handing it off in the beginning of the year.

Space Menu Project
Fine dining in the Space Cafe includes several mini projects that cover all the science indicators. Students must complete the "main dish" but have choices on "sides" and "desserts."
