Kaleidoscope Lettering Symmetry Project - Designs with Names or Inspiring Words
Kaleidoscope Lettering uses the concepts of bilateral (reflective) symmetry, tessellation, and positive/negative space to transform a name, initials, or an inspiring word into a unique design that looks much more complicated to create than it actually is! Universal Visual Art Rubric
This is my tried and true rubric I've used in my art one classes for quite some time now. You can use this for ANY project. It is also student friendly, as I've had my students use it to grade themselves before turning work in also.
I always have students complete written self-reflections as part of their final assessments, hence my note at the bottom of the rubric, which you can certainly change if it doesn't fit your students.
