Germs Everywhere Petri Dish Sampling Lab & Hand-washing Germs Simulant
Students learn how to conduct a good experiment using petri dishes, and real lab techniques such as sterile sampling and consideration of sample sizes. Also contains a hand-washing activity I have done using GloGerm available online- shows students how well they wash their hands (or don't!). They love this part!Student worksheets available for this lab with pre-lab questions, data collect, analysis, and post-lab questions in English and Spanish within the powerpoints via Google Drive links.

Week in Review Reflection (Meta-Analysis)
This is a useful tool for students to start to see patterns in their own lives as it relates to weekly behaviors. Typically, students refer to previous Week in Reviews, and complete averages based on those categories. They then record those averages on the Week in Review Reflection. It gives students an opportunity to see a "bigger picture" and introduces/reinforces the concept of meta-analysis, or systematically assessing previous results of their own recorded data and to reach conclusions base

Fantastic constructivist curriculum unit integrating reading, research, oral communication, peer collaboration, technology, and debate with the content of the human body systems. Sure to be a motivating, memorable learning experience for elementary intermediate aged students on up through high school. CCSS's are only referenced for 4th grade - however, the amount of reading and oral communication standards addressed in this project is extremely comprehensive.

Follow the journey of a soccer ball as it takes you through a garden to teach you the benefits of produce in one's diet. Plant a garden, Celebrate Earth Day! Harvest and enjoy the fruits, or do I dare say, "the vegetables" of your labor. Allow the soccer ball to help you draw parallelism between these foods and your body organs. Show how our Creator made these foods in our likeness, engaging students in tactile learning experiences.
