I created it for early intervention services for toddlers with a language delay to encourage functional language and vocabulary through real life pictures while also providing a picture of the sign being performed. Also great for children with ASD and other language disorders. This book can be laminated along with the symbol cards. I recommend using velcro strips to adapt this book as a sensory activity.

This is a high-frequency words test I made for my student with a hearing impairment. Students sign the vocabulary word and receive a check on the line if they sign it correct. (Students without a hearing impairment can read the word for credit). The vocabulary word is bold-faced in a sentence and the student chooses the picture that appropriately represents the word. This assessment is very visual and would benefit not just students with hearing impairments. A great tool to use!
