I have over 25 years experience as a certified teacher of Pre-Kinder through grade 16 teaching both Spanish and French in multi-age classrooms. Includes over 12 years mentoring pre service teachers in the classroom.

Received Modified Oral Proficiency ACTFL Certification and have expertise with sequentially appropriate pedagogy. Served 15 years as a member of our Local, State and National Task Force Committees.
University level proficiency tester for summer abroad programs.
Over 10 years working with our local Migrant Education Bilingual Summer Program teaching Math, Science, Reading and Writing to Pre-Kinder through grade 11.
Five years teaching in a dual language program for Pre-Kinder through fifth grade students.
I am currently teaching online adult education Spanish language courses.

Language immersion is an appropriate method that helps all students to communicate in the Foreign Language classroom. My activities always have an interactive focus for group communication where each student has an important role during the activity. Students need to know that they are valued and that they will be able to contribute to all student-directed activities.  
Students tend to learn in different ways and learning materials should be designed for self-pacing and all levels of student ability. Thematic songs, rhythm and movement are tools that aid in memorization and cognitive development and by addressing the needs of visual and kinesthetic learners, we create engaging activities and additional learning opportunities for all students.
