Sound Vocabulary Cards
These vocabulary cards are used for my sound unit. The words include vibration, sound wave, echo, wavelength, frequency, pitch, amplitude, and volume. Each card contains a definition and a picture. I made these to save time because it is much easier to print them on card stock or have them paste them to an index card than to have them write out vocabulary as called for in my curriculum guide. Pinch Cards
A type of formative assessment that allows you to see at a glance which students can give the correct response to see who is understanding the lesson as you go. I printed them on colored paper/cardstock. (same sheet on front and back) I laminated the sheets, cut out the cards, and placed them on a binder ring. The students hung them on a hook on the side of their desks and pulled them out whenever called for.

This worksheet shows a cross-section of an animal cell. Students are to use the word bank to write the correct word next to each definition. There are five words and five definitions. I use this with my 7th and 8th graders who work on an alternate curriculum. This is also a great review for homework.

Modified Physical and Chemical Change Cut and Paste; Special Ed
This is a 2-page worksheet for students in an inclusive science class learning about the physical and chemical changes. I used this for my 6th grade students who learn at about a first grade level.
The worksheet has two columns on the first page. One is labeled physical reactions and the other is labeled chemical reactions. There are six reactions on the second page. Students are to cut these reactions (with picture clues) out and paste them in the correct column of the chart on the first page

National Geographic Kids Monkeys Informational Text Unit
The National Geographic Kids Monkeys unit offers extra support for students to engage deeply in this great example of informational text. This unit offers scaffolded support to hold independent readers accountable for engaging in informational text or as intervention for students who need more support. Water Filter Experiment- packet
This experiment is great for understanding water filtration. We use 2 liter bottles with the bottom cut off. Students preplan in their groups what materials to use and how to place them in the upsidedown 2 liter. Once the prepare their "filtration system", I pour dirty water in and we collect it (glass baby food jars work great because you can see inside) out of the small opening at the bottom.
