This sheet in particular is also perfect if your children are like mine: picky with what they eat! I've done tasting activities in the past but have always had students not want to eat something, so the selection in this activity ensured the majority of them would participate :)This file includes both the taste test I

Measurement Fractions: Visual Equivalents for Cooking and Baking

This is a fun way to work on learning fractions while baking and cooking. By limiting the measuring cups available to students, they have to add and/or multiply fractions to achieve the target measurement. For example, give a child a quarter cup measuring cup (1/4 cup) and ask them to figure out how many scoops they would need to make a half cup (1/2 cup), three quarters cup (3/4 cup) or a full cup (1 cup) as needed based on ingredient quantities. If you are interested in the FULL PACKAGE, see Me

This tied in with our family unit as well as following directions and writing how tos. I collected all of the recipes, we grouped them together by type, created a table of contents, and then I sent each child home with their very own cookbook!
